Two further volumes were later produced, one in 1922 and the other in 1933. With multiple transcontinental railroads now in existence, and having been so for a few decades, transcontinental tourism had become accessible to the general public.  These guidebooks provided both maps and a running text describing the geological and historical significance of the route the railway followed.
